"TG3 in Virginia"

I arrived at Mary Lou's in time to get in on all the feverish decorating, shopping, gift wrapping, etc. I stayed in the Strombecker's house, and I must say they were quite a welcoming, diverse family! Immediately when I jumped out of the box yelling "Surprise" one of the girls led me to her closet and let me pick out something to wear. That's good 'cause I was cooooooold. My favorite dress of all time is the one I got to wear: a light blue dress with snowflakes with a pinafore with snowmen all over it. Everyone said it complimented my coloring; I just liked the dress!

I got to help with last minute shopping and wrapping gifts. We had a huge mess all over the floor but we finally had the last gift wrapped. The girls gave me my own stocking and let me hang it on the fireplace with theirs. I loved decorating the tree too, but it's really hard to wait for Xmas Day to get here. It's fun being with so many friends during the holidays! And they have a dog!! I'm secretly hoping that my new mom will let me have one; I've always wanted a dog of my own.

One of my favorite Xmas decorations is the nativity scene; it's Betsy's too. Of course I like the nutcrackers on the mantel too. Some of us got a chance to go 'sploring in Mary Lou's house too. Phew! What a lot of things to see! And everywhere we went she kept saying "awwwwwwwwww" and "stand still and let me take your picture" and "smile". I'm only showing you the best of the pictures because I made silly faces in some of them.

Mary Lou has a thing for moose. She told me that ever since people found out that she likes them they have been sending moose to her. I got to pet one on her kitchen table; Mary Lou said he's a cookie jar but his head was too heavy to move to see what kind of cookies were inside. He sure is cute. You wouldn't believe all the moose in her den--moose everywhere! I got to sit on the lap of a biiiiiiiiiig one who was protecting me from the real mean looking one nearby at the time. I got a kick out of GinnyAnn imitating the moose on snowshoes! :) She had left her snowshoes at home so she was just pretending.

On Christmas Eve I got to go caroling with some of the neighbors. We caroled in a sleigh pulled by 2 reindeer! I got to pet them afterwards. Then we went to see a pageant--we even got to be in it! I think you can see the 3 wise men, Mary and Joseph, and a shepherd in one photo. There was an angel overhead, and the camel, donkey and lambs were real quiet during the time we were there. I got to go up real close and see the baby too. He was sleeping so I didn't get to hold him but I DID get to sit on the camel. I'm glad he didn't stand up!
