"TGinny 2 Visits Texas"

Hi Everyone,

I made the long trip from California to Texas and arrived late yesterday. Boy, was I exhausted! They really kept me busy in California. I'm hoping my new Ginny Mom will let me ride in Coach or First Class instead of Cargo. It's no fun in a dark box.

I met Ginny Faith and I think we're going to be best friends...I really like her. Today we just stayed home and took it easy. Ginny Faith let me relax for a while in her Texas Hot Tub. We even wore matching Tankinis. Boy, this is the life. Ginny Faith tells me that a Texas cowgirl should never be without her hat. Betty even gave us each a bracelet with our initials so she can tell us apart.

After I rest up they have a lot of neat plans. I think I'm going to really like it here.

More later...Love, TG2

Hi Ginny Moms,

I had a busy day today. Ginny Faith and I got up early so we could get ready to go to Houston's Ellington Field and welcome home the astronauts. The shuttle Atlantis (STS-110) landed at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida yesterday, and today the crew flew home to Houston. We made signs to carry and got dressed in our space suits. We were so excited. I've always wanted to meet an astronaut...

We waited and waited in a hangar at Ellington Field. Finally the astronauts landed and came in and waved to everyone. We waved back. Then each of the astronauts gave a little speech...

Now we know what we want to be when we grow up. Ginny Faith and I want to be astronauts! We want to be the first Ginny dolls in space. We actually got to meet one of the astronauts. His name is Steve Frick and he was the pilot on this mission. Can you believe it? Wasn't he a good sport? (Betty said it was worth waiting 40 minutes until they arrived and another 45 minutes worth of speeches in a crowded hangar just to get this picture.)

While we were at Ellington Field we went over and saw a plane they call the "Vomit Comet". This plane was used to simulate what it would be like to be weightless. Sometimes the astronauts would get sick. That's how the plane got its nickname. They don't use this plane anymore, so it's on display. You can't go inside...thank goodness! That's us standing under the plane on the little piece of white concrete. Can you see us? We're the two little astronauts...

Here's another shot of the "Vomit Comet"...

Here we are in front of the Johnson Space Center. Can you see us? We're the two little astronauts standing in the ivy below the sign...

Here...maybe you can see us better in this view...

Here we are playing. We're pretending to be astronauts. This is so much fun. I can't wait to grow up and join the astronaut corps. Love, TG2

Betty wanted you to see how she's got her husband trained as a photographer's assistant...
