My husband decided we needed a different look to our bedroom (i.e.= change colors). Our quilt consisted of whites and pastels. He wanted to go to brown tones. So, early in 2004 I began working on a new queen size quilt. I mapped out the design and began work. The finished size is 96" long by 108" wide. Some blocks are done in Crazy Quilt style, some in Brownwork Embroidery and some are pieced. Because the quilt was so large, it would not fit onto my frame for finishing (plus it would take another year to quilt), so I opted to send the top out to be machine quilted. It should be back by the end of April and I'll post photos of it then. The quilting is done by Little Red Quilt House.
In the meantime, I started working on the pillow shams and throw pillows to go with the quilt on the bed. The two pillow shams feature the Brownwork Embroidery in the center and pieced framing around.

One of the throw pillows has embroidery and crazy quilt work, while the second is a pieced front.

The quilt is now finished! The quilting design is called "Chantilly Lace".
