The Love Family came from Chautaugua County, New York abut 1833 to Kane County in Illinois. In 1835 they moved to DeKalb County and located on section 6 (DeKalb Township).

**There seems to be a difference in recordings as to the middle name of Frederick D. Love, Sr. and Jr. Several show Dreater and others show Decatur.**

6. Sarah J. LOVE (Frederick Jr., Frederick, John, John, Adam) was born 1854, and died bef. 1935 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She married Manley DeWitt BARBER, son of Lyman BARBER and Cornelia SPRING.

The BARBER Family came to Illinois in 1835 from Pike, New York. Levi C. BARBER settled on section 15. His wife was Hannah BATEN. His first wife, who died, had been Sally ROOD.

7. Lewis David LOVE (Frederick Jr., Frederick, John, John, Adam) was born 7 July 1855 in Cortland Township, Illinois, and died 2 April 1935 in Sycamore, Illinois. He married Minnie I. TAYLOR 1877.

Notes for Lewis David LOVE:

Lewis farmed until 1898 when he entered the machinery business at Sycamore, remaining in that line of endeavor until 1930, when he retired. Member of the Federated Church, the Sycamore lodge of Elks and the Modern Woodmen of America, active in these organizations until his failing health curtailed his participation, but never his interest.
